1The short version

Your poker data never leaves your machine. rivnode is a desktop application: hand histories, databases and analysis results are stored locally and are never uploaded to us. We hold only what is needed to issue and validate a licence key.

2What stays on your machine

Everything you actually work with. Hand-history files, the local databases rivnode builds from them, solver output, notes, and every analysis result are stored on your computer and are not transmitted to us. We have no ability to read them, no server-side account holding them, and no telemetry reporting on what you do inside the application.

3What we hold

Only licensing data:

The email address supplied with your order, passed to us by Polar
Your licence key, purchase date, and the date your update period ends
An opaque machine identifier for each machine you activate, used solely to enforce the three-machine limit. It is a derived value, not a hardware serial, and it identifies a machine to us only as a string
Ordinary server logs for the licensing endpoints, including IP address, retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention

We do not hold payment card details at any point. Payment is processed by Polar as merchant of record, under its own privacy policy.

4Why, and on what legal basis

We process this data to perform our contract with you: issuing a licence, letting you download the software, and validating activations. Abuse prevention and log retention rest on our legitimate interest in protecting the service from key sharing and automated attack.

5Who else is involved

Polar — merchant of record. Processes the payment, issues your licence key, and handles tax and invoicing.
Cloudflare — hosts this website and our licensing service, and stores installers and content packs.
Your AI model provider, if you use the optional AI assistant. You supply your own API key and requests go directly from your machine to that provider under your account with them. We are not in that path and see none of it.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.

6Content-pack data

The population statistics distributed with rivnode are aggregate values only. They contain no player names, no account identifiers, no personal data, and no reproduction of any individual hand.

7Retention

Licence records are kept for as long as the licence exists, and afterwards only as long as needed for accounting and tax obligations. Server logs are kept for a short period. Machine activation records are removed when a machine's lease expires or is released.

8Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email privacy@rivnode.io and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires.

Note that deleting your licence record means the key can no longer be validated and the software will stop downloading updates or activating on new machines.

9Cookies

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and runs no analytics script.

10Changes

If we change this policy we will update the version and date above. Material changes affecting existing customers will be sent to the email address on your order.
