rivnode

Windows desktop · offline study software

Your hands, the solver, and the pool — in one comparison.

rivnode is analysis software for no-limit hold'em. It reads the hand-history files your poker client writes after a session has ended and shows you where your past decisions diverged from a game-theory baseline, and where the player pool diverges from it too.

Both halves matter. Equilibrium tells you what is unexploitable. The pool tells you what is actually happening. The gap between them is where the money is, and rivnode is built to put those two readings next to your own game at the same node.

One node, every answer.

Status

rivnode is in development and is not yet on sale. There is no purchase option on this site and no download. This page exists so you can read what the product is and what the licence terms will be before anything is offered. Questions are welcome at the address below.

What it does

Reviews your own hands

Point rivnode at the folder where your poker client saves hand histories. It parses them into a local database and reports the spots where your action frequencies drift furthest from the baseline, ranked by what that drift costs in expectation. Every finding links back to a replay of the specific hand it came from.

Reads solver output

rivnode loads solved game trees produced by PioSolver and presents them as navigable range grids and decision trees. PioSolver is separate commercial software you install and licence yourself; rivnode does not include, bundle or resell it. The hand-history and reference features work without a solver.

Shows what the pool actually does

rivnode ships anonymised, aggregated action-frequency statistics — how often a typical player at a given stake takes a given action in a given situation. These are statistical aggregates only: no player names, no account identifiers, no personal data and no reproduction of any individual hand.

What it is not

This category has a real line running through it, and rivnode sits firmly on one side of it. Stated plainly, because it matters both to players and to anyone assessing what this software is:

Reviewing your own finished hands away from the table is ordinary study — the same activity as a chess player analysing a game they have already played. The licence agreement requires you to comply with the terms of any poker platform you use, and prohibits using rivnode for real-time assistance.
